Katagi Koka En has been growing tea trees with no pesticides or chemicals for over 40 years. Organic tea farmers sometimes use animal based fertilizers to enhance the flavors but this farmer uses only plant based fertilizer in order for you to taste the authentic flavor of each cultivars.
🟢WHAT IS "ASAMIYA"?
Asamiya is one of 5 major tea plantations in Japan.
A Japanese monk brought tea tree seed back from China and planted them in Asamiya area 1200 years ago,
which is believed to be the origin of Japanese green tea.
Since Asamiya is high quality tea, it is purchased by tea masters in Uji, Kyoto before it goes to the market.
Asamiya is blended with other leaves in order to produce final products for Uji tea.
Therefore it is very rare even in Japan.
🟢 HOW TO INFUSE THIS TEA
1-1.5 teaspoon of green tea per a cup
Use boiling water for enjoying astringency, or 140-176 F (60-80C) water for enjoying umami.
Let it sit for 40-90 seconds.
*You can adjust the astringency by infusing time and water temperature*
